Alex was an extremely detailed and thorough contractor. He was by far the most adept and professional GC who bid on my project. Unfortunately the COVID19 recession has made me need to approach this project differently, so ultimately I could not move forward, but Alex was my top pick. As an Owner-Builder with previous experience building in the Bay area, I could tell Alex really knew his stuff compared to the competition. He’s an extremely nice guy and was very prompt in putting things together. I hope I have the opportunity to work with Alex in the future.

We have lived in our home without a toilet on our first floor for over 20 years! No More. I now have a wonderful half bath.
Alex worked with our architect’s design to build a half bath, by breaking through my living room wall into my attached garage, and building a newly imagined space there. Because we were creating an alcove to access this new space, I got the bonus of a new closet. Who doesn’t want more closet space!
Alex is a true craftsman, and enjoys his work. When unexpected issues arose, he showed his problem solving skills, suggesting and executing work arounds. He has an abundance of experience which enable him to suggest the best fix. He works with top notch subcontractors, and managed their timing and execution well.
I was very please with the detail of his initial bid, because it meant he was really thinking through every step that was needed. This project was no small feet, we had to get water were there wasn’t any before, and get connected into the sewer line under my slate walkway. Things I would never think of, as I just wanted to pick out my pretty Heath Tile pattern, and fixtures.
We talked through many things that were not specified in the drawings. For example, Alex made sure the addition used the same baseboard and door trim, so it looks like it was always part of my house. We had to figure out the best transition to the garage, as it turned out to be a different elevation. So we decided to tile the alcove too. Little details like that make a big difference in the finish product.
Because of his initial detailed bid, there were very few add services, and the project finished very near to original budget. We had a structural issue with the placement of the alcove opening, but he was able to solve for that, and at a reasonable price. His billing was very clear, the progress payments tied to specific line items, which I really appreciated.

Beyond Green was selected for a complete rebuild of our basement in ADU. Project started from concrete floors and was managed through to the final details. Alex does great work! He is very meticulous and responsive. As with any project this large, there were a few changes along the way. Pricing and communication around all of the changes was more than fair. I would highly recommend Alex for another project, large or small.

Beyond Green Construction Co did a quality job, which included complex sound proofing, and I’m very happy with the end result. Communication was exceptional before, during, and after (a period when many other contractors fall short) the job. Alex was professional and willing to work with my suggestions and ideas. He also completed a demolition and replacement of three separate redwood stair sections around our home, built a beautiful ipe wall for us, and consulted on a few other things we will need to complete at a later date.

Alex at Beyond Green recently competed a project in our condo to create a bonus room. This entailed constructing 2 new walls, relocating some electrics and installing a set of French doors. We have been delighted with how it has all worked out. Before we started, Alex took the time to go through the various options available to us for quality of materials and finishes to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. Alex spent a long time preparing the area for work, carefully cordoning off the areas he needed with floor to ceiling plastic sheets, installing air extractors and floor coverings. This helped keep the dust to a minimum and the rest of our apartment clean, much appreciated when living in our condo whilst it was being worked on. Alex kept to his dates and finished the project within his estimated time, working with our HOA to make sure all the neighbors were happy. The quality is outstanding. Alex took the time to do things right rather than take the easy route. I’m pretty picky and struggled to find fault anywhere: great alignment of sockets, smooth walls, consistent door gaps, everything was perfect. You can tell that Alex takes pride in his work, something we now get the benefit of for many years to come. The pricing of the job was competitive and fair (you can’t get good AND cheap in the Bay Area), and when we had a couple of unforeseen issues come up during the work (as is often the way), Alex was able to do the extra work for us at a very reasonable additional cost. The overall cost was as quoted (and actually a little cheaper in some areas), so no nasty surprises. Alex’s friendly nature and can-do attitude was very much appreciated, and turned what may have otherwise been a stressful experience into a breeze. I would not hesitate to recommend Alex and Beyond Green!

We hired Beyond Green to remodel of our kitchen / pantry. It was old, funky & not very functional. Alex (owner) helped us design & re – create the space & just by cutting down one interior wall to make it a half wall & installing one new exterior window, the area feels twice as big! It opened the whole space, created a nice view we didn’t even know we had!! Alex built some custom shelving in the pantry & along w/ the beautiful granite counter tops & new cabinets he personally installed, we feel like we cook better & love hanging out in the kitchen! Alex was very professional, clean, stuck to the bid w/ no “extras” & even finished a week early! We are so happy with the work that we’re now discussing w/ Alex remodeling our bathroom as well. Cant wait!
