This was an entire “full gut” remodel meaning every inch of ceiling and wall was removed, exposing the home to its original framing. We then performed an entire remodel of every room, all baths and kitchen, and of course insulation (older homes commonly have none). We also replaced the entire plumbing, heating and electrical systems. In the end, this home’s energy consumption went down by 84% from previous PG&E bills (averaged over a full year). Very impressive, but not surprising when you have a home where every single system is 40+ years old.
